This commissioned portrait is of Alexandra Sorina.  A silent movie star in the 1920's with a very interesting life story.  The painting was commissioned by her daughter, Tatiana, who had a sepia photo that was taken in 1924 when her mother was a young woman.  When she received the completed portrait, Tatiana said, " You not only captured my mother's likeness, you captured the demure, shy person with a visible inner strength and determination.  This is my mother. "
